Endorsed Midwife Care

Our Endorsed Midwife (EM) Mel Scott is able to offer a continuity of care plan for low risk women and their families during pregnancy and the post-natal period. She is able to prescribe medications, request ultrasounds and pathology tests that are relevant to your pregnancy. The advantage is to have a main care provider that you see throughout your pregnancy and into your postnatal time. At this stage she does not attend births, but will collaborate with our Pioneer GPO’s so you will have that ongoing support during that time.

Pre-Pregnancy Clinic

Pioneer Health is committed to providing you and your family with high quality health care. The Pioneer obstetric team’s highest priority is to ensure a healthy baby and mother. In order to give children the very best start in life, it’s important that mothers have a healthy pregnancy. The Pioneer Health Pre-Pregnancy Clinic represents an excellent opportunity to prevent health issues for you in your pregnancy and your baby. Practice Equipment

Pioneer Health’s investment in specialised obstetrics equipment allows us to offer high quality pregnancy care. The practice has an ultrasound machine that is used regularly to ascertain your baby’s wellbeing and presentation. We also have two on-site cardiotocograph (CTG) machines. Our CTG allows for foetal heart rate monitoring in the third trimester of pregnancy.

Lactation Consultant / Endorsed Midwife

To further enhance the care of our obstetric patients, Pioneer Health now has a Lactation Consultant/Midwife, Mel Scott. Mel is a mother of four who has 12+ years experience as a midwife and is a qualified Lactation Consultant.
