Our Billing Policy
You may have heard about the Government’s new Universal Bulk Billing initiative?
This initiative is optional for general practices, and at Pioneer Health Albany we have chosen to remain a Mixed Billing Practice.
What this means for you
We continue to bulk bill:- Children under 16 years
- Patients with a valid concession card
for standard GP appointments during normal business hours (8.30am – 5.30pm).
All other patients and all Special Services (such as procedures, treatment room visits, and after-hours appointments), will incur a private fee. Medicare rebates are available for eligible consultations.
If you’re unsure what fees may apply to your visit, please speak with our friendly reception team — they can explain the fees and help you understand your Medicare rebate.
Your care comes first
Good healthcare takes time. Our GPs want to listen carefully, understand your needs, and provide thorough, thoughtful care. While the Government has increased bulk billing incentives, these payments still don’t cover the full cost of providing high-quality care.
To continue offering comprehensive, patient-centred care for you and your family, we charge a fee for some consultations.
