Vasectomies
At Pioneer Health, we are pleased to be able to offer patients a vasectomy service performed by either Dr David Tadj or Dr Jolmer Smit.
Vasectomy refers to a sterilization procedure for males. The procedure involves cutting and tying both vas deferentia. We can offer a vasectomy performed under local anaesthetic in rooms, or general anaesthetic at hospital.
The local anaesthetic (LA) procedure
- current wait time is a few weeks
- a scalpel-free vasectomy
- in a treatment room at Pioneer Health
- using local anaesthetic.
The general anaesthetic (GA) procedure
- current wait time is 9-12 months
- a scalpel-free vasectomy
- at Albany Health Campus
- using general anaesthetic.
Before you book an appointment, please print off the below pre-operative information sheet. This will answer many of your questions before you come to see Dr Tadj or Dr Smit. Please sign it and bring it with you to the appointment.
