Repeat Scripts

If you have been given a prescription that you will likely need repeats for, please read the following important information.

You are required to have an appointment with your GP at least once every twelve months to review your medications. In between, you have three options for obtaining repeat prescriptions:

  1. An appointment with your regular GP
This can be in person or a telephone consult (if you have had a face-to-face appointment in the last 12 months). Other issues can be discussed along with your request for a repeat prescription. Standard fees apply for both in-person and telephone consultations.

  2. An appointment in our telephone script clinic
This service is not for antibiotics, pain killers, sleeping tablets, authority scripts, new prescriptions, a change of medication or new patients to the practice.

You must have had a face-to-face appointment at the practice in the last 12 months. These bulk-billed appointments are for your repeat scripts only as they are only 5 minutes long. If you need to discuss any other issues, please make an appointment with a GP instead.  Please note, the GP will review your records to ensure your request is appropriate to be filled via this service. If deemed inappropriate, you will be advised to make an appointment with your GP.

  3. Request online
This service is not for antibiotics, pain killers, sleeping tablets, authority scripts, new prescriptions, a change of medication or new patients to the practice.

You can submit an online request for prescriptions that your regular GP at Pioneer Health Albany has previously prescribed to you. Allow 3-5 working days for the request to be actioned. Please note, the GP will review your records to ensure your request is appropriate to be filled via this service. If deemed inappropriate, you will receive a text message stating your request was declined and asking you to contact the practice. There is a $15 fee for this service (this is only charged once the doctor has completed your prescription).
