In preparation for flu season, Pioneer Health is now taking bookings for our flu vaccination clinics.

This year the Health Department has recommended vaccination to take place in late May. The flu vaccine does not provide long-lasting immunity so you need to be vaccinated each year. It is recommended you book into one of our flu clinics in late May to ensure optimal coverage. If you are travelling or require the vaccination earlier, please book an appointment with your GP to discuss.

You can read about the 2018 flu vaccine here.

The following groups will be eligible for government funded (free) vaccines in 2017:

  • People aged 65 years and over
  • Children aged >6months to 5 years
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are 15 years and over
  • Pregnant women
  • People aged six months and over with medical conditions such as severe asthma, lung or heart disease, low immunity or diabetes that can lead to complications from influenza.

There will be a cost of $15 for the private flu vaccines.

For your convenience, Pioneer Health will be running Flu vaccine only* clinics.
